Kamniška Bistrica, Slovenia – How fish passes and dams affect the life of migratory fish, children could’ve experienced on 25th of May, as part of the EkoReka event, organized by Revivo Institute.

The main idea behind the fish polygon, designed by WWF Adria, was to raise awareness among children of how river regulation, and especially hydropower plants, affects everyone. Also, this was an opportunity to promote new WWF Adria program for dam removal in Slovenia.

Older visitors participated in the debate about river regulation and its consequences with a special aim of finding a solution for sustainable river management. At the end of the discussion, all participants signed non-binding declaration/strategy for improvement of riverine ecosystems and development of nature-based river management. As part of the event, numerous other sports activities were organized, and local NGOs presented their work through workshops and other activities.
